Riley Bennett

Hey there! I’m Riley Bennett, a tech troubleshooter based in Austin, Texas, and a core part of the Bugdir.com team. My expertise lies in debugging messy code, repairing stubborn hardware, and unraveling complex network issues. Growing up in a family of engineers, I’ve always been the one to take things apart just to see how they work—and then put them back together, hopefully better than before. At Bugdir.com, I combine my love for problem-solving and teaching to help people everywhere feel empowered to tackle their tech problems.

Interests:

  • Hobbies:
“I’m a maker through and through. Whether it’s building custom smart home devices or creating open-source tools, I love working with my hands. When I’m not immersed in tech, I play guitar—badly but enthusiastically.”
  • Passions:
“I’m passionate about accessibility in technology. At Bugdir.com, I focus on creating solutions that are easy to understand and implement, regardless of someone’s technical background.”
  • Other Interests:
“I’m a huge fan of live music—Austin’s the perfect place for that! You’ll often find me at local gigs or exploring food trucks around the city, hunting for the best tacos.”

Skill Development Backstory:

My tech journey started in my family’s garage back in Denver, where my dad let me tinker with old machines he brought home from work. I spent my teenage years learning to code from online forums and fixing broken gadgets for my friends. By the time I was 16, I’d built my first custom PC and wrote a basic program to automate household tasks.

I later studied software development in Seattle, where I interned at a startup that specialized in AI-powered diagnostics. That’s where I learned how to handle high-pressure situations and navigate ambiguous errors. After graduation, I worked as a systems analyst, dealing with everything from faulty hardware to server crashes. It was chaotic, but I loved every second of it.

When Bugdir.com reached out, I jumped at the chance to join. Now, I get to combine my skills in coding, hardware repair, and communication to help people around the world solve their tech issues. It’s not just about fixing what’s broken—it’s about helping others feel confident in tackling problems on their own.
